Mobilizing Volunteers

Giving back to community is a top priority at Ford Motor Company. In 2005, Bill Ford founded the Ford Volunteer Corps as a testament to the Ford family’s longtime commitment to making a positive impact on society.

Each year, thousands of employees volunteer in community service projects around the world, bringing unique skills, passion and teamwork to grassroots organizations and nonprofits. Since 2005, Ford employees have logged more than 1.7 million volunteer hours – feeding the hungry, building homes, renovating schools, installing clean water systems and helping in many more ways to give back to communities across six continents.

Global Caring Month

Global Caring Month is a month-long concentrated focus on community service that happens each September. Every year, the Ford Volunteer Corps rallies thousands of employees to support humanitarian efforts in Ford communities around the world that are suffering from food insecurity, poor healthcare, gaps in education, lack of housing, or have other basic daily needs. Employees plan and coordinate volunteer projects and Ford Fund provides grants to nonprofits to buy tools and supplies needed to complete many of the activities.

During the past two years, even as COVID-19 disrupted life around the world, Ford employees continued to safely serve their communities. In 2021, more than $700,000 USD in grant funding was provided to 149 employee-nominated community organizations in 34 countries.
