Opening Pathways to the Future of Work

We are living through a period of historic technological change where the skills and competencies needed to obtain and retain jobs are evolving rapidly, leaving many individuals behind and resulting in income disparity that impacts health, education, housing, food security and more.

Our partnerships and programming help reach the next generation of leaders from under-resourced communities to provide access to training, financial resources and the pathways to education needed for career advancement in the new economy.

Ford Enter

Ford Enter is an IT training and certification program that helps remove barriers to education while addressing the growing demand for IT professionals across South America.

Developed in partnership with Ford Brazil, Global Giving and educational nonprofit SENSAI-SP, the program includes 440 hours of free, in-person behavioral and technical training, as well as a financial allowance for food and transportation to classes.

Launched in Brazil in late 2022, we will be expanding to Argentina, Chile, Peru and Colombia beginning in 2023.

Ford First Gen

Ford First Gen is designed to improve graduation rates among first-generation college students at Spelman College by pairing students with a Ford Motor Company mentor and providing them with access to other resources and opportunities.

Students attend monthly seminars focused on networking, career development and building healthy support systems — all designed to help them succeed in college.

Upon completion of their sophomore year, students have an opportunity to become program mentors themselves, gaining valuable leadership experience as they guide a new cohort of first-generation college students through their first year in college. Student mentors meet with industry professionals for insight into today’s workplace, work with Spelman faculty and complete Ford-sponsored summer internships.

Auto Tech Scholarships

In partnership with Ford dealers and national nonprofit TechForce, we provide access to technical training opportunities for students pursuing professional careers in automotive service and technology. Our needs-based scholarships reduce barriers for students by helping cover tuition, mechanical tools, food, and transportation.

Designed to fuel upward professional and economic mobility and prepare students with career readiness as we move toward electrification, the initiative also helps meet the urgent demand for highly-skilled automotive technicians across the industry.
