More than 44 million people in the U.S. face hunger, including 1 in 5 children.

At Ford Fund, we are committed to fighting food insecurity and investing in mobility solutions that expand access to food in underserved and transportation-limited communities across the U.S.

This holiday season we invite you to join us in supporting these organizations dedicated to eradicating hunger in our communities.

Together, we can help put food on the table for families in need.

Gleaners

Gleaners provides food to more than nearly 400 partner soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, schools and other agencies across the region, and supplements the efforts of those partners by offering direct service drive-up grocery distributions.

Every dollar donated provides three meals and 92 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to food and food programs.

Forgotten Harvest

Forgotten Harvest delivers 138,000 pounds of surplus food per day, to local charities six days a week – providing families in need with fresh and nutritious food free of charge. Our food helps bridge the income gap for tens of thousands of people, allowing them to secure some basic life necessities for themselves and their families.

Every dollar donated provides seven dollars of groceries delivered.

Salvation Army Bed & Bread Club

Last year, The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s Bed & Bread Program served more than 4,600 meals each day to men, women and children who would otherwise go without. That’s nearly 1.7 million meals annually.

The Bed & Bread trucks are on the streets of Detroit 365 days a year making 60 designated stops throughout each day.

A donation of $120 will help feed 5 people for a month – or 10 people a month for $240.

Feeding America

Feeding America is the largest charity working to end hunger in the United States. Their nationwide network of over 200 food banks and 60,000 meal programs help people access food without judgement or stigma.

Every dollar given can provide at least 10 meals to families in need through the Feeding America network of food banks.
