Ford Fireworks Explode over Detroit’s Riverfront in a Dazzling Summer Tradition

DETROIT, June 25, 2018 -- The Ford Fireworks lit up Downtown Detroit to cap a perfect summer evening for family fun. Celebrating 60 years, the Ford Fireworks featured more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects that thrilled the hundreds of thousands of people gathered along the Detroit River.

The theme of this year’s big show was “Come Alive in the D!” In addition to the sparkling display in the sky, Ford Focus on Freedom saluted 200 current and former military members and their families during a special VIP event with a close-up view of the fireworks. Ford Fund also sponsored live entertainment, games and giveaways, a vintage plane flyover from Yankee Air Museum, and an exclusive viewing zone for 2,000 Detroit-area students and family members.
