Ford Resource and Engagement Centers

Ford Resource and Engagement Centers are a Ford Fund innovation that bring nonprofits, residents and leaders together to support their neighborhoods. Since 2013, we have developed a global network of these facilities – each one unique in how it reflects the needs and culture of the community it serves.

Detroit

At our community centers in Southwest Detroit and on the east side of the city, we partner with nonprofits to deliver food and provide legal services, educational opportunities and youth programming for residents.

Bangkok, Thailand

Located in the city’s historic Pom Prap Sattru Phai district, our Bangkok center is a hub for some of Thailand’s most innovative and environmentally conscious nongovernmental organizations and social enterprises. Designed to be a shared public space for the neighborhood to enjoy, the center runs programs focused on food delivery, environmental conservation, art and technology.

Pretoria, South Africa

Located near Ford’s Silverton Assembly Plant, our Pretoria resource center provides residents from the nearby Mamelodi community with skills development and job training. The center operates in collaboration with two local nonprofit organizations, Future Families, which provides care and support to vulnerable children and their families, and Harambee, which focuses on youth unemployment and connects employers with job seekers.
