Ford Motor Company has always stepped up to help in times of need. As Ford engineers and researchers are developing masks and ventilators to help combat COVID-19, at Ford Fund, we are working in concert with the company – taking immediate action at the local level and concentrating on the most critical issues facing communities throughout the country and around the world.

Below is a summary of the quick actions we’ve take to direct resources and support communities in need.
Providing new ways for employees to give back
We have received hundreds of notes from Ford employees asking how they can help during this critical time. Because traditional volunteering has become more difficult, we are providing other ways for employees to lend a hand.
COVID-19 Donation Match is a combined effort between Ford Fund and Bill Ford that will match $500,000 in donations to designated community organizations in more than 20 countries, raising a potential $1 million in total assistance.

We worked with food service contractor Aramark to deliver 4,000 take-out food containers to Pope Francis Center so they can provide to-go meals to homeless people.
ACROSS THE UNITES STATES
We are redirecting approximately $1 million to support local organizations in cities across the U.S. in their efforts to provide hunger relief, shelter and assist with mobility needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic. A few examples include:
In partnership with UNCF (United Negro College Fund), we have established a $100,000 emergency fund for students at historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) who may need financial assistance with travel costs to get home. Interested students should contact their HBCU to determine if funds are available.
Through our partnership with the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), we are redirecting funds to support Hispanic students during the pandemic, providing hunger relief, assisting with transportation needs and offering mental health coaching, mentoring and online educational support through 50 LULAC councils around the country.
AROUND THE WORLD
Earlier this year, we were involved in an effort in China to provide needed supplies during the initial breakout of the virus. The nongovernmental organization Non-Profit Incubator (NPI) received $150,000 / 1 million RMB in grant funds from GlobalGiving, Ford Fund's global partner, and Ford of China to purchase face masks and other protective gear.
Through our partnership with international nonprofit Enactus, we are have redirected funds to support 14 student-led projects focused on solving community issues related to COVID-19 through the Ford COVID-19 College Challenge.
