BELLEVILLE, Mich. – The FIRST Robotics World Championship will be in Detroit April 24-27, as teams of students from around the world bring their robots and technical skills to meet challenging engineering tasks. Ford sponsors FIRST Robotics teams in 87 high schools and in 136 elementary and middle schools located across the United States. More than 240 Ford employees mentor students during the year, working together to sharpen students’ knowledge of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics). Danielle Wu, a high school senior from Ann Arbor, and Doug Chubb, a teacher from Canton, shared some of their thoughts on robotics and the competition during one of the local and regional events leading up to the world championship.
