Growing Community Leaders

The future depends on the leaders we empower today. Our leadership programs create opportunities for Ford employees and young people to develop new skillsets that prepare them to be purpose-driven leaders.

Thirty Under 30

Thirty Under 30 is a fellowship program for young Ford Motor Company employees interested in working with nonprofit organizations to address some of today’s most challenging economic and social issues.

Executive Chairman Bill Ford launched the program in 2016 as part of his vision to develop public service-minded young leaders who give back to their communities. Each class consists of 30 Ford fellows under the age of 30, selected from thousands of employees across North America.

Ford fellows learn new skills and strategies to design innovative solutions in partnership with nonprofits working directly with communities.

Critical Conversations

Critical Conversations is a unique Ford program that brings students and law enforcement officers together to discuss ways to promote positive relations between young people and police.

In partnership with the Police Athletic League, Critical Conversations creates a safe space for youth ages 10 to 18 to have an open dialogue with members of law enforcement in their local community.

Over the course of the six-week program, students and officers meet once a week to discuss community perceptions of the police and how the police approach interactions with young people. Each session is designed to address biases and foster trust and respect.
